This Summer at Gymco our Gymtime program will be running weekly day camps with an emphasis on sports. Through out the summer we will focus on a number of sports, as well as the skills necessary for each individual sport, a list of the sports we will cover are:
Football
Baseball
Basketball
Gymnastics
Soccer
Volleyball
Running
In order for anyone to excel or even participate in any sport it is necessary to have a proper foundation of basic athletic skills such as:
Agility
Coordination
Gross Motor
Balance
Kinesthetic Awareness
Motor Skills
Body Awareness
Spatial Awareness
Hand Eye Coordination
Foot Eye Coordination
Our teachers will be introducing, teaching, refining skills, and playing with our campers each day inside our gym and outside pending on the weather. We will use a variety of progressions to teach each skill and incorporate games to help make the whole experience fun and rewarding.
Skills/Drills/Progressions/Games
Agility - Cone Drills, Plyometric exercise drills/work outs
Coordination - Gross motor movement, beginner to intermediate gymnastic skills
Locomotion - Skip, Hop, Jump, Slide Shuffle, Run
Baseball - Throwing, Catching, Swinging
Basketball - Dribble, Pass, Shoot, Defense
Gymnastics - Following Gymco's Gymnastic curriculum
Soccer - Dribble, Pass, Shoot, Scrimmages
Football - Throw, Catch, Running
Running - Short cardio exercises through out each session inside and out
